GEOMETRY - WHITE AND THE ABSOLUTE

"White in art is a color. In Western painting it is used for the natural representation of atmospheric conditions related to snow, ice, fog, desert, in which light plays strongly..., always an indication of the absolute, the sublime and the silent". (A. Bonito Oliva) Another opinion is that of those who maintain that, precisely for this reason, white is the non-color, it is the absolute light that adds them all and cancels them all, in the name of a transcendence to the absolute, to what is otherworldly, to the pure spirit. Why this dichotomy of thoughts? In reality, these are different positions that reach the same conclusion. White, in fact, contains within itself the totality and, in life and in human experience, it is used to support and signal the passage. A color for a new beginning. A change that can bring new vivifying energy, and a new depth. Monia Biscioni expresses in her candid, material and rigorous works, the main reason why many artists arrive at the use of White, monochrome: it is the need for "purity" and "clarity" to progress in a deeper and more elevated artistic research. The concept "white-light-consciousness-thought" is linked to the pregnancy of the Self: the center, the goal nucleus of human individuation, the alchemical Albedo, the tension of becoming in existence, where the concept of change returns, of the passage from one state to another, and of growth and metamorphosis. If then, as masterfully in Monia's works, the symbolism of color is applied to that of the spherical, circular shape of her creations combined with the ascetic triangle and symbol of balance, we have a further indication of a spiritual tension, a conscious search for an "elsewhere" in which to transit and progress on the inner journey. “Geometria”, a material work, in which silence is achieved by the containment of geometric noises within a circle blocked by four aluminum triangles, equidistant and equivalent, give us the idea of balanced creations for an oriental-style mediative ancestry. A sort of search for the 7th Chakra, that of spirituality, visualized as a thread of silvery white light that connects man to the divine and in which we open up to our higher Self. Path of a passage in a new creative explosion.
